Gospel singer Laolu Gbenjo has made a passionate appeal on the death of his colleague, Toluwanisings.
Kemi Filani reported that on Tuesday, a Night of Tribute was held for the singer, with many of his colleagues in attendance.
While giving a speech about the deceased, Laolu pleaded that his family shouldn’t turn his death into that of the late Afrobeat singer, Mohbad.
Speaking on Toluwani’s passing, he described him as a good-hearted man, saying you could never find him among jobless people.
Laolu said Toluwani was a friend to everybody and served the Lord with his heart. He warned those content creators fond of peddling false rumours to stop it and look for a better job.
“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on Tiktok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job.
Recall that the singer had passed away in the early hours of 14th October, 2026.
His family confirmed the sad news, urging the public to keep his wife, family, and loved ones in prayers during this difficult time.
Earlier this week, one of his uncles, on behalf of the family, released a statement laying out terms for when and where the singer would be buried. He said the family was prepared to cover mortuary costs for as long as the process takes, and the burial must take place at his home where his wife and children reside.
Toluwani’s uncle said his wife refused to bury him at the house, and they suggested the family’s house, which she also refused, saying it was far.
His uncle claimed that the day he went to his house after his death, he was shocked to see his wife and her mother eating and watching TV.
Amid the clash with his wife, the family had demanded that no burial proceed until a full investigation is carried out.
