Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has stirred reactions with his latest display on Lagos streets.

The actor, who lost the favour and support of many over his paedophile scandal, was captured on the streets in the rain promoting his new movie.

Despite the heavy downpour, the actor didn’t relent in his efforts to beg market women and passersby to watch his film.

Rather than drawing sympathy with the video, many expressed displeasure at his attempt to blackmail people emotionally with the stunt.

During a courtesy visit to Sunday Igboho at his residence, Ijesha recounted a bad prophecy about him which came to pass. He revealed that before he went to prison, someone saw a revelation about him that he would be a great man, but a huge calamity would befall him.

Recall that in 2022, Baba Ijesha had bagged 5 years imprisonment for raping comedienne, Princess’s 14 years old daughter.

On Friday, November 15th, 2025, the famous actor was released from prison, after spending over three years in custody over alleged sexual assault.

The actor shocked many on June 15th when he announced that he is now married and had welcomed a child with celebrity designer, Luminee. He said that God had written his story and had given him more than he prayed for – a wife and now a baby boy.

In July, Ijesha and his wife, had visited the Ooni of Ife, who honoured them with a royal welcome and fatherly love. The Ooni blessed them with luxurious gifts, a brand-new car and a chieftaincy title.

In what appeared to be damage control tactic, the palace of the Ooni of Ife, debunked the reports of giving Ijesha a title. The Ooni’s spokesperson maintained that while the monarch is known for giving out cars, he couldn’t confirm the claim about the chieftaincy title.

Despite his scandal, many came to his defence.

Regina Chukwu questioned whether Ijesha should be condemned for the rest of his life.

Businessman Wale Jana noted how Baba Ijesha is a registered s3x offender, yet that didn’t stop God from showing him Mercy or giving him a new beginning. He noted that Ijesha didn’t just marry; he married an accomplished, successful woman and has a son with her.

Alesh Sanni, pointed out the irony of how sinners were judging others differently. He admonished the public to do what makes them happy, as life is too short.
