Early life
Omah Lay grew up in Port Harcourt in a musical family. He started by making beats and writing for other artists before deciding to sing his own songs.
Rise to fame
His 2020 EP Get Layd, with “Bad Influence” and “You”, blew up during the lockdown. A second EP, What Have We Done, followed with “Godly”, and in 2021 he featured on Justin Bieber’s “Attention”.
Albums
His debut album Boy Alone (2022) — with “Soso”, “Woman” and “Understand” — was praised for its honesty about loneliness and mental health. Clarity of Mind followed in 2024.
