Twitch removes channel of Stick Run creator Manuel Otto after apparent suicide on livestream

Twitch has removed German gaming creator Manuel Otto’s channel and a livestream following reports of his apparent death, according to TMZ.

A spokesperson for the platform said it “moved quickly” to remove the channel and recording to prevent others from viewing the footage. “What took place is horrible, and the mental health and wellbeing of our community matters deeply to us,” the spokesperson said. Twitch did not disclose further details about the livestream.

Otto, who created the multiplayer game Stick Run at the age of 14, reportedly passed on at 30 following an incident during a Twitch broadcast. A spokesperson for Stick Run previously acknowledged the recording and described his passing as an apparent unaliving. The circumstances have not been officially established.

The game’s team urged fans to respect the privacy of those affected and avoid circulating unverified information. Some reports have suggested a connection to a fatal incident in Bavaria, Germany, but authorities have not publicly confirmed any link to Otto’s passing.
