Nigerian singer Skales has called out the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC over their latest sting operation.
Officers of the Commission had stormed Applewood Estate in Lekki, Lagos, where they allegedly slapped a woman who was on a call before they arrived, dragged a suspect to the floor, among others.
Re-sharing the video on his social media page, he called on the youths to stand against their evil, noting that he is still dealing with the trauma from how they broke into his house.
Sending a message to the youths at Orchid Road, he told them not to let the EFCC intimidate them. He told them to record and post every video of them vandalising properties.
“I just saw a video of the abuse EFCC personnel did to a lady. The misuse of power needs to stop. Show the same energy to the politicians that steal billions. The youth are not your problem. Stop acting like armed robbers.
@EFCC stop acting like armed robbers; you’re meant to help society, not become enemies of society.
I still have trauma from how they broke into my house the last time, causing my newborn’s mum to drop her. I still do! I hate them.
So EFCC is back to be a nuisance again. It’s time for the youths to stand against these evil people who will lead politicians who stole billions and behold disturbing young people.
If you live on Orchid Road and you’re a youth, do not let them oppress you. Record and post every video of them vandalising your properties and whatever abuse they do. It’s time to put an end to the misuse of power by EFCC, and it’s personal”.
A few weeks ago, the singer reacted to the painful death of an EFCC officer. He said he was glad to hear the news, as he revealed he had a similar experience with the commission years ago.
Skales recounted how the Commission’s officials raided his home armed with guns in October 2023, and this caused harm to his family as his mother, out of fear, dropped his 6-month-old daughter, leaving her lips severely damaged. He stated that he was still dealing with the trauma of that incident.
Comedian, I Go Save questioned the EFCC about their frequent hotel raids. He questioned why they are fond of raiding hotels and admonished the operatives to go after them and receive applause from the citizens.
In other news, he spoke out on the constant beef and war in the music industry, saying he believes the beef could one day lead to loss of life. He admonished his colleagues and their fans to stop promoting hostility, stressing that love and respect were better than spreading hate.
The Shake Body crooner had aired out his frustration over the constant dragging from Wizkid’s fans. He said he is human and can’t keep ignoring the trolls, as he loves his life and pace. He made it clear that he only wants peace and to focus on his career.
A year back, the singer opened up on the constant comparison with Wizkid, who was once his label mate. Skales maintained his cool as he stated that he was also doing well. For him, it was all love and he was still doing great as far as careers go.
That wasn’t the first time Skales had addressed the constant comparison. He had opened up in 2021, on how he battled depression after his wedding over Wizkid and the slow pace in his career. He revealed that he had to overcome depression before he could propose to his woman.
