No matter what Soludo does, Peter Obi will continue to be more popular than him - Senator Victor Umeh

Senator Victor Umeh has drawn a sharp comparison between former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate Peter Obi, and the current governor, Charles Soludo.

While appearing as a guest on Channels TV on Tuesday night, October 27, Umeh asserted that no matter what Soludo accomplishes, he can never match Obi’s immense popularity on both local and international stages.

‘’Today, no matter what Soludo does, Peter Obi will continue to become more popular than him, both in Nigeria and in Anambra state.''Umeh said

Umeh  made these remarks while addressing the growing rivalry between the two political figures. In recent times, Governor Soludo has repeatedly dismissed reports of Obi's excellent performance in office and disputed claims that Obi left the state debt-free at the end of his tenure. Soludo has also thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu, explicitly urging South-East indigenes not to vote for Obi in 2027.

These maneuvers have drawn heavy criticism from political analysts, who argue that Soludo is actively working against the former governor.

Umeh further argued that Obi was the actual winner of the 2023 presidential election, maintaining that if a free and fair election were held in Nigeria today, Obi would be declared the rightful winner.
